Took a look at my Solist pro12... INCREDIBLE! They really used two reed types there!
I'm planning to retune the low A solist to a lowC Truechrom-layout. That would mean either swapping the blow/draw reeds on holes 11 &12, or filing them UP 2 simitones.
Dave,
do you think they would endure +2semitones? Hohners usually don't...

If you are careful, it will go that far. I've done 3 semitones with about an 80 percent sucess rate. I would swap.

Looks like the Mountain Harp 64 and all the Shanty models are discontinued.

It's no secret that Hohner and just about everyone else in the world has raised prices this year. I know that I'm feeling the pinch at the gas pump and on everyday necessities. I don't want to raise prices but I really don't have any choice but to pass increased costs on to my customers.
Seydel just sent out their 2010 pricelist and as you might expect, there have been increases.  It takes quite a bit of time to go through and edit all of the products on my website. I started with the Mountain Harps today.

Elk customers will still be able to get 2009 prices from www.NewHarmonica.com on all Seydel products until March 31st
no matter what the website advertises, but you have to call us. Special discounts have to be entered into the system manually. If you order online, you pay full cost.
If you're planning to buy a new Seydel in the near future, you might want to consider buying them now and save yourself a few dollars.
By the way, After March 31st., I'll still match any dealers advertised price on new Suzuki or Seydel harmonicas and give Elk customers an additional 5% discount on all Seydel and most Suzuki products.

THE LAST ONE
I only have one Mountain Harp 64 left in stock
The first Elk River Customer to call us gets it delivered within the US for $40.00

Our normal business hours are from 9 AM - 9 PM daily EST
The phone numbers listed on the website are our personal cell phones. If the lines are busy leave a message and in most instances we'll call you back within a few minutes.

The latest price increases were after the Euro had fallen considerably against the US $. Those increases actually did surprise me.
