I recently purchased a used Hohner Chromatica 280 on e-bay. It is in pristine condition except that it had obviously been used by a heavy smoker. It chokes me out to play it. I can return it but hate to as it is such a nice harp. I am hesitant to wash it out even with alcohol as I see so many of the chromatica combs warp and split between the upper and lower channels and de-laminate at the glue from shrinkage. Does anyone have any experience solving this problem? I've thought perhaps sealing with butcher block oil, or some other material might help. Any other ideas, preferably from personal experience? Thanks, B.
